Thermal Printer Vs Laser Printer - A Comparision

This post is about two different types of printers and their uses at different Work Place. I am sure most of you have heard about printers and understand it as a simple printing device. But here we are trying to compare two types of printers and where they are useful or applicable.

A Laser Printer

Above are images of a thermal printer and a laser printer. There are many good companies which make such printers but we are not going to discuss about which company is better than other in this post. We are simply comparing these two types of printers

                               

Points of comparison:	Thermal Printer :	Laser Printer:
Space	Occupies less Space. It can easily be put where not enough space is available.	Occupies more space. Needs to be put at a place with some space
Speed	Faster	Slower as compared to a thermal printer
Maintenance	Requires Less Maintenance	Requires More Maintenance
Price	Few bucks more as compared to a laser printer but it does not need ink/cartridges	Few bucks cheaper as compared to a thermal printer but needs ink/cartridges
Paper	Uses thermal paper in form of a thermal roll. Paper roll comes in different sizes of  4inch,3inch, 2inch	Uses A4 paper, A5 paper etc. Size of print out is bigger as compared to thermal
Printout Life	Print out could get faded after few months depending upon paper roll used	Print out is mostly permanent. Print can be seen even after years

Overall, both printers have got their own advantages and dis-advantages. While choosing which printer to use, we need to look at above points and more importantly, at which place we need the printer installed.

ऊपर एक थर्मल प्रिंटर और एक लेजर प्रिंटर की छवियां हैं। कई अच्छी कंपनियां हैं जो इस तरह के प्रिंटर बनाती हैं लेकिन हम इस बारे में चर्चा नहीं करने वाले हैं कि इस पोस्ट में कौन सी कंपनी दूसरे से बेहतर है। हम केवल इन दो प्रकार के प्रिंटरों की तुलना कर रहे हैं

तुलना के बिंदु:	थर्मल प्रिंटर :	लेजर प्रिंटर:
जगह	कम जगह घेरता है। यह आसानी से रखा जा सकता है जहां पर्याप्त जगह उपलब्ध नहीं है।	ज्यादा जगह घेरता है। कुछ जगह के साथ एक जगह पर रखने की जरूरत है
गति	गति में तेज होता हे	थर्मल प्रिंटर की तुलना में धीमा  होता हे
रख-रखाव	कम रखरखाव की आवश्यकता है	अधिक रखरखाव की आवश्यकता है
कीमत और लागत	लेज़र प्रिंटर की तुलना में कुछ रुपये अधिक होते हैं लेकिन इसके लिए स्याही / कार्ट्रिज  की आवश्यकता नहीं होती है	थर्मल प्रिंटर की तुलना में कुछ सस्ता है, लेकिन स्याही / कार्ट्रिज  की जरूरत है
पेपर	थर्मल रोल के रूप में थर्मल पेपर का उपयोग करता है। पेपर रोल 4 इंच, 3 इंच, 2 इंच के विभिन्न आकारों में आता है	ए 4 पेपर, ए 5 पेपर आदि का उपयोग करता है। थर्मल की तुलना में प्रिंट आउट का आकार बड़ा है
प्रिंटआउट लाइफ	पेपर रोल के इस्तेमाल के आधार पर प्रिंट आउट कुछ महीनों के बाद फीका पड़ सकता है	प्रिंट आउट ज्यादातर स्थायी होता है। सालों बाद भी प्रिंट देखा जा सकता है
कार्य	कम कार्य केवल प्रिंटिंग	अधिक कार्य जैसे प्रिंटिंग , स्कैनिंग, फोटोकॉपी आदि
सँभालने में आसानी	संभालना बहुत आसान है, पेपर रोल को बदलना आसान है। कागज जाम नहीं होता	अंत उपयोगकर्ता के लिए थोड़ा जटिल। बार-बार कागज जाम और कार्ट्रिज  का बदलना और स्याही की रिफिलिंग।
बारकोड	बारकोड प्रिंट कर सकता है	बरकोड प्रिंट नहीं करता
ज़िन्दगी	आम तौर पर लंबे जीवन	थर्मल प्रिंटर की तुलना में कम जीवन
इस्तेमाल किस जगह	रेस्तरां, लाइब्रेरी, शॉपिंग मॉल, आइसक्रीम पार्लर आदि जगह पर। उपयोग घर में नहीं किया जाता है। अधिकतर खुदरा व्यापार में	.कॉर्पोरेट कार्यालय, सरकारी कार्यालय, गृह और कुछ खुदरा व्यापार

कुल मिलाकर, दोनों प्रिंटरों के  अपने फायदे और हानी मिले हैं। किस प्रिंटर का उपयोग करना है, इसका चयन करते समय, हमें उपरोक्त बिंदुओं को और किस स्थान पर हमें प्रिंटर की आवश्यकता है उसे देखना चाहिए ।
